Biography of Gopal Samudram Narayan Ramachandran Name: Gopal Samudram Narayan Ramachandran Birth date: 8 October 1922 Location: Ernakulam, Kerala, British Occupation: Pharmacologist Death: 7 April 2001 Early Biography of Gopal Samudram Narayan Ramachandran:         Ramachandran was born on 8 October 1922 in a Tamil Brahmin family in the city of Ernakulam, Kerala, India. He completed his BSc Honors in Physics in 1939 from St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirapalli. He joined the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in the Department of Electrical Engineering in 1942.         Realizing his interest in physics, he received his degree in Physics from Madras University in 1942 with his thesis from Bangalore. Later he obtained his degree in DIS in 1947.
