Biography of Maharani Tapaswini Maharani Tapaswini (1842-19 07) was the daughter of Lakshmi Bai's daughter and daughter of landlord Narayan Rao of Belur. Very few people know about Tapaswini. She fought against British in the first battle of Indian independence of 1857. After the failure of the revolution, she was kept in the jail of Tiruchirappalli. After coming out of jail, he got education of Sanskrit and yoga and then continued working for women's education in Kolkata. Shee died in 1907. Rani Tapaswini is mentioned by a Pakistani writer, Zahida Heena, in her book "Pakistani woman: torture and struggle" She mentions them in his article on female education in the Indian subcontinent.
