Biography of Maharani Tapaswini Maharani Tapaswini (1842-19 07) was the daughter of Lakshmi Bai's daughter and daughter of landlord Narayan Rao of Belur. Very few people know about Tapaswini. She fought against British in the first battle of Indian independence of 1857. After the failure of the revolution, she was kept in the jail of Tiruchirappalli. After coming out of jail, he got education of Sanskrit and yoga and then continued working for women's education in Kolkata. Shee died in 1907.
