Major Indian Ports:

India has a vast coastline, and several major ports facilitate the country's international trade and commerce. As of my last update in January 2022, here is a list of some of the major ports in India:

1.  Mumbai Port (Maharashtra):  Located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, it is one of the largest and busiest ports in India, handling a significant portion of the country's trade.

2.  Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva) (Maharashtra):  Situated near Mumbai in Maharashtra, it is the largest container port in India and handles a considerable volume of container traffic.

3.  Chennai Port (Tamil Nadu):  Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, it is one of the oldest and most important ports in India, handling diverse cargo, including containers, automobiles, and general goods.

4.  Kolkata Port (West Bengal):  Situated in Kolkata, West Bengal, it is the oldest operating port in India and one of the major ports on the eastern coast.

5.  Visakhapatnam Port (Andhra Pradesh):  Located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, it is one of the largest and busiest ports on the eastern coast of India, handling various types of cargo.

6.  Paradip Port (Odisha):  Situated in Odisha, Paradip Port primarily deals with bulk cargo, including iron ore, coal, and petroleum products.
