Godavari Basin Sanctuaries Parks:

The Godavari Basin, located in central and southern India, is home to several wildlife sanctuaries and national parks. These protected areas are crucial for conserving biodiversity and providing habitats for various plant and animal species. As of my last update in January 2022, here are some of the notable wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in the Godavari Basin:

1.  Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary (Andhra Pradesh):  Situated in the East Godavari and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh, Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary is home to diverse flora and fauna. The sanctuary is known for its rich avian population and scenic landscapes.

3.  Indravati National Park (Chhattisgarh):  Although not directly in the Godavari Basin but nearby, Indravati National Park in Chhattisgarh is renowned for its biodiversity. It is home to tigers, leopards, wild buffalo, and various species of deer. The park is part of the Indravati River's catchment area.

4.  Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra):  Located in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of India's prominent tiger reserves. Apart from tigers, the reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including leopards, sloth bears, and various bird species.

5.  Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary (Maharashtra):  Situated in the Bhandara district of Maharashtra, Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is known for its rich biodiversity, including tigers, leopards, and various species of birds and reptiles.
