The festival of Vijayadashami is celebrated on the tenth day after the Navratri worship of Goddess Durga for nine days. According to the Panchang, the festival of Vijayadashami is celebrated on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This year, the date of Dashami will start from 06.52 pm on October 14 and will remain till 06.02 pm on October 15. After this Ekadashi date will start. Therefore Vijayadashami will be celebrated on 15th October, Friday, according to Udaya Tithi. The auspicious time for the worship of Vijayadashami will be Vijay MuhurtaDussehra or Vijayadashami will be from 02:07 pm to 02:53 pm on October 15.

Vijayadashami worship tradition

On the day of Dussehra or Vijayadashami, both Lord Shri Ram and Mother Durga are worshiped according to the belief. Due to being the last day of Navratri worship, the idols of Maa Durga are immersed on this day. On the other hand, the effigy of Ravana is burnt symbolically celebrating the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. On this day the farmers celebrate their new crop and the warriors worship their weapons.
