Hartalika Teej Vrat is a Hindu festival observed primarily by married women in India, Nepal, and some other parts of South Asia. It is celebrated to honor the goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva. The word "Hartalika" is derived from "harat" meaning abduction and "alika" meaning friend. According to the Hindu mythology, Goddess Parvati's friend helped her escape an unwanted marriage to a demon and marry Lord Shiva.

3. Rituals and Customs:Women wake up early, take a ritual bath, and wear new clothes.
They create an idol or image of Goddess Parvati out of clay or sand and worship it.
Women offer prayers and perform the Hartalika Teej Vrat Katha (the legend associated with the festival).
The day is spent in singing devotional songs, reading religious texts, and listening to the story of Hartalika.
Some women observe Nirjala Vrat (fasting without consuming water) throughout the day.
In the evening, they offer fruits, flowers, and other items to the Goddess and seek her blessings for their families.
