What is cryptography | Types of cryptography

What is cryptography?

Hello friends, today we will have to know what is the use of cryptography. And what are its types. You must have known that the Internet is being used a lot these days. Everyone has become dependent on the Internet, even if it is a small child. We can get the right facility of internet, for which we put our information on the internet without thinking anything, but to keep this information or data safe, whatever information (message) we have on the internet through mobile or laptop It is secured by using cryptography technology to keep it safe. Due to which the chances of getting hacked are greatly reduced.

What is cryptography

You have read the basic use of cryptography but technically you see what it is.

What is cryptography?

The meaning of cryptography here is to keep any data or information secure. By using cryptography, we can convert our data or information into unreadable secret form. Which is called cipher text. And the same can read the data or information that has its secret key. This is called decryption and decrypted data is called plain text.

Let us understand this by example. Suppose you have to tell someone in your group of friends about something that the other person does not know, then you will tell that person in a gesture or do something so that the information reaches him. Or you will use some code which only that person can understand. Now if that code reaches even a third person, then they will not understand what is written in it and what it means and by doing so this information will reach your friend.

The same happens in cryptography. Your information or data is encrypted in a code that no one can read and the data you want to send is given here by decrypting the data. You do not even know, here the process is done in a few seconds. This reduces the chances of data leaking.

What are the types of cryptography?

There are two types of cryptography.

  • Symmetric cryptography
  • asymmetric cryptography
Symmetric Cryptography: - In symmetric cryptography the same key is used to encrypt and decrypt any data. In this, the same key is used for encryption of plain text and decryption of cipher text. It is also called private key cryptography.

Asymmetric Cryptography: - Asymmetric cryptography uses different k for both encryption and decryption. In this, the public key is used for encryption. Everyone knows. And private key is used to decrypt. Which only the receiver knows. It is also called public key cryptography.

What is the use of cryptography?

  • Cryptography is used to protect E-mail message, credit card and important information. Maintains the security of data here. '
  • Using cryptography, plain text is converted to cipher text in encryption. In decryption, cipher text is converted to plain text.
  • Cryptography is also used in cryptocurrency.
Data is secured by encryption in cryptography. Which reduces the chances of your data being leaked. If your data gets hacked then it cannot be easily understood.
