Biography of Sujata Ramdorai

Sujata Ramdorai is an accomplished mathematician known for her significant contributions to number theory and representation theory. She was born on June 8, 1970, in India. Ramdorai completed her undergraduate studies in mathematics at Elphinstone College in Mumbai, India. Later, she pursued her Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University, where she worked under the supervision of mathematician Barry Mazur.

Early life of Sujata Ramdorai :

Sujata Ramdorai was born on 23 May 1962. He was born in Bangalore. Ramdorai completed his BSc at St. Janseph College Bangalore in 1982. In 1985, the MSc has been completed through correspondence with the Annamai University. Subsequently, Sujatha went for a PhD in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

Sujata Ramdorai has been awarded her PhD in 1992 under the supervision of Raman Parimala. His research was Wit Groupsa of Real Surface and Real Geometry. Currently Sujata is also involved in teaching supervisor and other matters. Her husband is Srinivas Ramdorai.

Work of Sujata Ramdorai :

Throughout her career, Sujata Ramdorai has made substantial contributions to several areas of mathematics, including arithmetic algebraic geometry, number theory, and representation theory. She has worked on topics related to Shimura varieties and Galois representations, making important advances in these fields.

Apart from her research contributions, Ramdorai is also passionate about mathematics education and outreach. She has been involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting mathematics education, particularly among women and underrepresented minorities. She has served on numerous committees and advisory boards related to mathematics education and research.

Ramdorai has held several prestigious academic positions during her career. As of my last update in September 2021, she was a professor at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai, India.
