Early life of R. Rajalakshmi:

R. Rajalakshmi's full name is Lakshmi Ramaswamy Ayar. R. Rajalakshmi was an Indian biochemist and nutritionist. She developed nutritious, affordable food for Indian families. R. Rajalakshmi was born in 1926 in the city of Kolam in Kerala, India.

Her father's name was GS Ramaswamy Ayar and mother's name was Meenakshi. Her Peeta was a posting audit officer. Rajalakshmi was married to Ramakrishnan. Vecantraman Ramakrishnan and Lalita Ramakrishnan are both their children. R. In 1945, Rajalakshmi obtained a mathematics degree from Wadia College, Pune.

In 1953, she received her MA degree in Philosophy from Banaras Hindu University. In 1958, Rajalakshmi received her PhD in Psychology from SC Gill University, Montreal.

Works of R. Rajalakshmi :

Rajalakshmi taught science at Kanchipuram from 1945 to 1948. In 1949, she received a teaching certificate from Lady Willingdon Training College. She has also studied in Annamalai University. In 1964, she also worked in the Baroda University.

In 1967, when she joined the Department of Biochemistry, she was part of a food and nutrition department there. She served as the head of the department from 1984 to 1986.

Awards and Honors to R. Rajalakshmi:

1) In 1960, Rajalakshmi managed and modified the nutrition program sponsored by UNICEF.

        In 2007, Rajalakshmi died in Seattle, Washington.
