Early life of Poornima Sinha:

Poornima Sinha was an Indian physicist. She is known as the first Bengali woman to get her doctorate in Physics. Purnima was born on 12 October 1927 in the city of Kolkata, India. Her Peeta's name was Naresh Chandra Sena Gupta. Her Peeta's name was Nareshchandra Sena Gupta.

Her Peeta was a constitutional lawyer and a progressive writer. Along with sixty seventy books and Bengali, he also wrote many essays in English. Poornima married the famous human scientist Professor Surjit Chandra Sinha. They have two daughters Sukanya and Suvarna. He is also a physicist at both Raman Research Institute and Indian Statistical Institute.

Purnima received her early education from the School of School Kolkata. Purnima studied at Ashutosh College, Scottish Church College and Calcutta University. He has also read tabla from Pandit Gyan Prakash Ghosh.

Purnima received her doctorate in X-ray crystallography of clay minerals from the Calcutta University in 1956 to 1957 as a student of Rajabazar Science College. For this, he was guided by Satyendra Nath Bose.

Work of Poornima Sinha :

Purnima wrote in detail on many subjects in both English and Bengali. He was also a regular contributor to the knowledge and science of a scientific journal in Bengali language published by the Bengal Council of Bengal Science Association, established by Satyendra Nath Bose.
