Let us tell you that on Monday, the Central Government has decided to ban 59 apps in India. These apps also include the popular short video creating app TikTok. This app had more than 200 million monthly active users in India. Following the government's decision, the app was remade from the Google Play Store and iOS App Store. Users whose smartphones had this app pre-installed will also not be able to access its server.

TikTok's ban has directly benefited from apps such as Indian short video making platforms Roposo, Mitron and Chingari. Roposo currently tops the category with 65 million downloads. After the launch of Hipi, other apps may get challenged. Also, TikTok's content creators will get a new platform.

Most of the 59 apps which the government has banned, including TikTok, are ordered by Chinese companies. Through these apps, users were at risk of data privacy. Keeping this in mind, the central government has decided to ban these apps. In the past, demands have been raised to ban TikTok. Questions have also been raised many times before regarding the contents of this app.
