Scientists have created a generator that will illuminate hundred LEDs with one drop of rain

According to DailyMail Online, scientists at the University of Hong Kong have created a generator that can illuminate a hundred small LED bulbs with a single drop of rain. This high-capacity generator can prove to be an effective step towards the production of electrical energy.

This generator can produce many times more energy than its counterpart at one time. According to Hong Kong University engineer and professor Xuanqi Wang, 140 volts of energy can be produced through this plant from a drop of 100 microliters of water from a height of 15 centimeters. He said that water power has been produced earlier also through power producing dam and high water wave station but due to the failure of technology, the water was not being fully utilized.

The professor explained that the droplets come from low-frequency kinetic energy. Which can be better used as variable energy. In a conventional plant, energy is produced through a triboelectric effect (when two substances come in contact with each other, friction causes electrons to move.). Usually the electrode is able to generate less energy through fuel but through this technique more energy can be produced.
Different from the rest of the plants
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) electrodes are used in this plant which is more permanent. When a drop of water falls on it, electricity will be generated till it is satisfied, whereas its capacity is less in a common plant.

The plant can also generate energy from seawater with raindrops. For example, energy can be generated through this plant through water collected on the outer part of the umbrella besides pier, sea shore, boat, water bottle.
The structure
The plant will have two electrodes. It will consist of one aluminum and the other polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) coated indium tin oxide.
