India successfully test-fires K-4 nuclear ballistic missile, has 3,500 km of firepower

India on Sunday successfully test-fired a K-4 ballistic missile from a submarine capable of carrying 3,500 km of nuclear weapons off the coast of Andhra Pradesh. The missile developed by DRDO will be equipped with the Navy's indigenous INS Arihant-class nuclear-powered submarines. This information has been received from government sources. Many countries in Pakistan, China and South Asia have come under the spell of this missile capable of nuclear attack.

Successful test of Pinaka missile


On 20 December, the Pinaka missile was again successfully tested off the Odisha coast by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The range of the missile is now 90 km. The Pinaka missile developed by DRDO is capable of attacking enemy territory up to a range of 90 km.

Agni-II test


The night trial of Agni-2, a 2000-km ballistic missile, was successfully carried out on 17 November. The 21-meter-long, 1-meter-wide, 17-ton missile, built indigenously, has the capability to carry up to 1000 kg of explosives.

What is a ballistic missile


From a technical point of view, a ballistic missile is a missile whose launch path is the sub orbital ballistic path. It is used to fire a weapon (nuclear weapon) at a predetermined target. It is guided only at the initial stage of missile launch. The path after this is determined by the principles of the arbital mechanic and by the ballistic principles. Until now it was released from chemical rocket engines.

In a DRDO event held in Bengaluru recently, PM Modi said that DRDO will have to come up with new innovations to make India self-reliant in the field of defense manufacturing. DRDO's innovations play a major role in strengthening Make in India in promoting a Vibrant Defense Sector in the country.
