Early life of Tracy Letts:

        Letts was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to writer Billy Letts (nee Gipson) and college professor and actor Dennis Letts. He has two brothers, Sean, a musician, and Dana. Let's be raised in Durant, Oklahoma and graduated from Durant High School in the early 1980s. He moved to Dallas, where he waited tables and worked in telemarketing while starting as an actor. Next came Bug, a love story about a woman who is a cocaine addict and a man who thinks his body is suffering from insects.

         It premiered in London in 1996 and later ran in New York. Meanwhile, the Lets continued to act. He moved to Los Angeles for a while, finding bits of work on television shows such as Seinfeld and Judging Amy. He appeared on stage in several productions of the Steppenwolf Theater Company of Chicago before being invited to assemble in 2002.
