Mohammad Hidayatullah was born on December 17, 1905, in Lucknow, India, in a prominent family known for its contributions to education and literature. He earned his LL.B. degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, and was called to the Bar from the Inner Temple, London.

Mohammad Hidayatullah's Legal Career:

Hidayatullah embarked on a successful legal career, practicing law in the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India. He gained a reputation as an erudite lawyer and scholar, which eventually led him to the judicial bench.

Judicial Career:

Hidayatullah was appointed as a Judge of the Nagpur High Court in 1946. Later, he served as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. In 1960, he was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
