Kundera's Literary Career in Czechoslovakia:

His early works, including "The Joke" (1967) and "Life is Elsewhere" (1973), gained recognition in Czechoslovakia. However, after the Prague Spring of 1968, Kundera's writing became increasingly critical of the communist regime.
