Dhoni's journey in cricket began in his hometown Ranchi, where he displayed his talent as a young cricketer. He made his debut for Bihar (later Jharkhand) in the 1999–2000 Ranji Trophy season. His impressive performances in domestic cricket caught the attention of selectors, leading to his inclusion in the Indian national team.

M. S. Dhoni's International Debut and Rise to Prominence:

Dhoni made his international debut for India in December 2004 in an ODI against Bangladesh.
