Ajit was born in Odisha in 1951. Jain graduated from IIT Kharagpur in 1972 and obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After this, from 1972 to 1973, he joined IBM as a salesman. He lost his job in 196. He then moved to the US in 1978 and did his MBA from Harvard University. After MBA, he joined McKinsey & Company. In 1986, he left McKinsey & Company to join Berkshires.

Ajit Jain has benefited Berkshire Hathaway by about 44 billion rupees (Rs. 2,97,132 crores) which shows Ajit's commercial success. Warren Baffet is convinced of Ajit Jain's talent. Ajit Jain, a completely vegetarian in food, was born in Odisha in 1951 and got a Mechanical Engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur. After this, from 1973 to 1976, Ajit worked for IBM in India. In 1976, when IBM closed its business in India, Ajit's job was to be known.

On the advice of one of his seniors, Ajit came to America in 1978 and obtained an MBA degree from the famous Harvard Business School. After pursuing an MBA, Ajit started a job at McKinsey & Co. Ajit returned to India around 1980, married according to his parents' wishes. On the advice of his wife, Ajit returned to America again and McKinsey & Co also hired him.

Ajit's life took a new turn in 1986, when his former boss Michael Goldberg offered to join his Berkshire Hathaway company. Michael Goldberg left McKinsey & Co since 1982 and was employed at Berkshire Hathaway.

Ajit Jain was unaware of the insurance business, but decided to join Berkshire Hathaway. What Ajit knew was that this step of his would give him success and fame at the top of the future.

Jain worked for IBM in India from 1973 to 1976, after which he did his MBA in 1978 from Harvard Business School, USA. He then joined McKinsey & Company, but returned to India in the early 1980s. After about a month of love affair, he married a girl as decided by his parents. He then moved to the United States to work for McKinsey again.
