Sunil Shetty was born in Mulki, a small town near Mangalore, Karnataka, India. He completed his schooling from St. Germain High School in Bangalore and later pursued his degree in Hotel Management from the prestigious South Mumbai college, The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering & Nutrition.


Shetty made his acting debut in the film "Balwaan" in 1992. He gained recognition with the film "Waqt Hamara Hai" (1993) and subsequently appeared in successful movies like "Mohra" (1994), "Dilwale" (1994), and "Anth" (1994). He became one of the leading actors in Bollywood during the 1990s and 2000s, starring in various action and drama films.
