Biography of Sharath Kamal Achanta
Achant Sarat came to headlines when he won India's first individual gold medal He won this medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. In addition to winning the individual gold medal, Anchat played an important role in winning Indian Table Tennis against Singapore. Achant Sharat had started proving his qualification only when he had captured the title of Tamil Nadu state in the senior category. He won the national championship of the Table Tennis in 2003. Subsequently, in 2004 Sarat Kamal won the individual gold medal in the 16th Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships in Kuala Lumpur. Achant Sharat Kamal was born on July 12, 1982 in Chennai, Tamilnadu. This is the first Indian player to get a gold medal in the table tennis championship in the Commonwealth Games. Achant Sharat started to prove his worth only when he had captured the title of Tamil Nadu state in the senior category. Sharat won the national championship of table tennis in 2003.
He represented India at the 2004 Olympics in Athens and is still the top Indian TT player, he represented the country in the 2006 Asian Games in Qatar.
In 2007, he was the first Indian to win the Pyongyang Invitational Tournament in North Korea's Pyongyang. This was the 21st edition of the tournament which was held in August 2007. His best performance at the World Circuit came in Japan Pro Tour, in June 2007, where he defeated World No. 1, Li Jung Weu (South Korea). After this victory, she reached the world's best ranking of her career at number 73 and her ranking was 44 in January 2011. Incidentally, Sharath was the only Indian male table tennis player to be selected for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In the 2010-11 season, he also played in the German major league (Bundsliga) for TSV graffing and is one of the best players in the league, winning the top of the German TT players. He played for SV Woman Bremen in the 2011-12 season. Sharath and team won Deutsche Pokal for a prestigious cup tournament for Germany 2013. The team is currently second in the Bundesliga Season 2013 â € 14.
