Biography of Leander Paes
Leander Paes is a professional tennis player in India who now competes in doubles and mixed doubles events. He is one of the most successful players of India. They win many doubles and mixed doubles events. He was given the highest award in the sports world of India in the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award 1996-1997 and also in the Padma Shri Award in 2001. In 2014, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan.
In addition to the matches, he won many memorable wins for India in the Davis Cup tennis tournament and won a bronze medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Leander Paes is one of the most successful players in the male doubles and mixed doubles. He was born in Goa and grew up in Calcutta. His mother, Jennifer Paes, was captain of the Indian Basketball team in 1980, and his father was Dr. Midfielder of Agusto Pace Hockey and was a member of the Indian team at the Munich Olympics in 1972, who won a bronze medal.
Her schooling was from Madras Christian College, Higher Secondary School. Her residence is Calendota in India and Orlando in Florida of America. He is a straight-handed player.
Leander had started learning tennis at the age of 7 and the basic information of the game started with the South Club, Calcutta.

Paes and Bhupathi started playing together in 1995. Not only did the ATP title win in 1997, but it reached the world's fourth position.
In 1998, he won the title of doubles, Italy and Shanghai doubles events and reached the 3 Grand Slam Australian, American and French semi-finals. In Wimbledon in 1997, they had to face defeat in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, their couple had separated for some time due to mutual differences, but still they started playing again by deflecting their differences for the country. Even today, Paes and Bhupati are playing the country's name in the mix doubles competition.
Paes became the second player to win an Olympic medal for India by winning a bronze medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Following this win, Leander Paes made his career as a pair with Mahesh Bhupathi. Paes-Bhupathi pair proved to be a huge achievement for India.
