What is desktop?

When Windows Operating System is launched Then the screen in front of the user that is visible is called the Desktop.

Windows Desktop works like the top layer of a table. On which the accessories are kept. When a Folder, File, Program or other item is run, it runs on the desktop itself.

You can also keep User Files, Folders, Pictures, Musics etc. on the Desktop. And arrange it according to your own.

The appearance and appearance of the desktop depends on the Windows version because some changes are made to the desktop in different versions of Windows. Which can be easily identified.

Below, you are viewing the picture of the beginning of a desktop that first appears when you start Windows. This is the Desktop Screen of Windows 7. Which are similar to the other versions also.

In the screenshot above you see that some numbers are written. These numbers are representing different parts of the desktop. Whom we are talking about below. In fact Windows Desktop has three main parts.

Desktop Icon

Desktop Shortcut Any document, file or any other item located in the computer, which is in the computer, is linked to it. The first Icon (Recycle Bin) appears on the first time when users start Window. But, some manufactures tend to leave more than one Icons on the desktop.

Desktop Icons are also called shortcut. These shortcut belong to the program, file, folder that is located in the computer. Double click on the shortcut icon and the relevant item can be opened.

Items can also be accessed by the Desktop Icons. And some additional information can also be found.

The Task bar

Task bar is a horizontal rectangular band. Which are downwards in the By Default Desktop Task bar is the most important part of the desktop.

The Windows items on the task bar are divided into several different parts to navigate. Which includes Start Button, Icons, Notification Area and Show Desktop Button

Desktop Background

The picture that you see on the desktop is called Desktop Background. Two kinds of backgrounds can be applied to the Windows and Picture and Theme in Windows OS.

Desktop from Desktop is personalized. Here users can use any picture as per their choice. Users can also create a photo of themselves as desktop background.
