History of Hidimba Devi Temple

Anyone who is a religious place has a history associated with him, who keeps the person of Kaliyug close to him. Similarly, there is an interesting history associated with Hidimba Devi Temple. Hadimba was from a monstrous person who lived with his brother Hidim on this mountain of Manali. Pandavas had lost everything in gambling and they became homeless.

During his exile, Pandavas and mother Kunti were inadvertently approaching this mountain where Hidimba and her brother lived. Pandavas stopped to rest and slept on there, but Bhima did not sleep then he went near the river to take water. Hidimba wanted to attack the Pandavas but she could not do it because she was fascinated by Bhima and started loving her.

Kuldevi of Kullu dynasty

This temple of Hidimba Devi is a recognition of the Kullu dynasty, behind which there is a small story. It is said that a person named Vihangam Das used to work in a Kumar. Hidimba Devi had appeared in a dream of Vihangam Das one day and gave him a boon to become king of Kullu.

After this incident, Vihangam Das had killed a tyrannical king here, which led to he became the first king of the Kullu dynasty, and even today the people of the Kallu royal family worship Hidimba Devi.

 Architecture of Hidimba Devi Temple

This temple of Hidimba Devi is very beautiful and peaceful. The specialty of this temple is that it has four roofs and the terraces are made through wood. To build the three roofs below, pine wood has been used and the main and fourth roof above is made of copper and bronze. These four terraces are made in a sequential way, the lowest of which is the lowest roof and after that there is a small, smaller roof.
