What are Desktop Icons?

Desktop Icon - When the computer is first started or started immediately after installing Windows, there are only one Icon - Recycle Bin on the desktop.

But, we can customize the desktop according to our own. And you can add Desktop icon to almost every item in Computer and add it to the Desktop.

Desktop Icons

As we know Desktop Icons are a picture that represent a program, folder, file or other item. Icons are an essential part of the desktop. Because by clicking on the Desktop icon, we can run or open that item.

Add and Remove Icons on Desktop

Users can choose Icons on the desktop according to their own. Icons can add as many as they like to their desktop. And delete the icon which I want to remove.

If you want to reach your required programs and files easily, you can create their Shortcut. A Shortcut related program, Folder is a link to files. Which can be run by clicking on the item related to Double Click.

Deleting the Shortcut icon only deletes the icon only. Actual Item Delete does not. The shortcut icon is separated by the symbol of the arrow from the Actual File. Look down

The first folder in it is the Actual Folder and next to it is the Shortcut of this folder. On which an arrow has been found.

1. Adding Shortcut to the Desktop

Step: 1 First of all, go to the item of the shortcut to be created.

Step: 2 Right-Click Now on Item

Step: 3 Now before the options available, click Send to and then click Desktop (create shortcut).

Step: 4 As soon as done, the item will be added to the Shortcut Item Desktop.

Add and Remove Common Desktop Icons

In Windows PC Personal Folder (User Account), Computer, Networks, Recycle Bin and Control Panel are considered as Common Desktop Icon. Initially, Recycle Bin is only on the desktop. Others tend to add to the users. Which is being described below.

Step: 1 First, right-click on the empty space on the desktop.

Step: 2 Now click on Personalize, which appears below the available options.

Step: 3 Then click on the Change desktop icons in the top left corner.

Step: 5 Check the icon you want to add from here.

Step: 6 and uncheck the item which you want to delete.

Remove Desktop Icons

Removing Icons from Desktop is very easy. And Icons are deleted only if Icon is deleted, Linked Actual Data does not delete. Feel free to do this work.

Step: 1 Right-Click Above the Icon that You Want to Remove from the Desktop.

Step: 2 Now click on Delete on the options available.

Step: 3 This will remove itself from the icon desktop itself.

Moving Desktop Icons

By Default Desktop Icons are set in the left corner. When a new Icon is added, it also gets set automatically. But, we can arrange these icons anywhere on the desktop.

1. To do this, first press Left-Click on the Icon that you want to move.
2. Now where to keep this icon, drag it while holding down the left-mouse of the mouse and leave it on reach. This verb is called dragging.
3. So in this way you can keep your mind in place by sliding any icon.

Apart from this we can arrange scattered Icons automatically. to do this

Step: 1 First, right-click on the empty space on the desktop.

Step: 2 Now click on View from the options available.

Step: 3 Then click on Auto arrange icons.

Step: 4 Now you will open the Dialog Box of Desktop Icons Settings.

By doing this, all the icons will be set on the left side and will not scatter again. Because now Icon Lock becomes.

Step:5 To Unlock, click View again Auto arrange icons.

Hide Unhide Desktop Icons

Users do not want Icon on the desktop or have more Icons, then delete them. But, there are also other ways. We can hide Desktop Icons. to do this

Step: 1 First, right-click on the empty space on the desktop.

Step: 2 Now click on Show Desktop Icon again in the options available.

Step: 3 All icons will be hidden once you do this.

Step:4  Repeat this process to unhide.
