Surajmal was born on February 13, 1707, in the Rajput Chauhan clan, in the region of Bharatpur, which is now in the modern-day state of Rajasthan, India.
He was the eldest son of Raja Badan Singh, the ruler of Bharatpur.

Surajmal's Rise to Power:

After the death of his father, Surajmal succeeded him as the ruler of Bharatpur in 1722. He inherited a principality that had strategic significance and was frequently involved in conflicts with neighboring states.

Military Leadership:

Surajmal was a skilled military strategist and warrior. He expanded the military strength of Bharatpur and developed a strong and disciplined army.
He successfully defended his kingdom against external threats, including invasions by the Marathas and other regional powers.

Surajmal's Alliance with the Marathas:

Surajmal initially formed an alliance with the Marathas against the Mughals. However, conflicts later arose between the two parties, leading to tensions and military confrontations.

Battle of Panipat (1761):
