Jammu and Kashmir, at an altitude of 5,000 meters (16,404 feet). Company area was defended with the position of three plates and the surrounding area was separated from the rest of the battalion. The hopes of Chinese attack on Rejang LA came on the morning of 18 November. It was the end of the very cold winter night, with light snow falling. By cutting the icy wind through winding and bending thin air and more than the cold, Rezang La's place had a more serious drawback. This was made by the Indian artillery due to an intervention facility, which meant that they had to make without the protective comfort of large guns. In the dim light of the morning, the Chinese number 7 and No. 8 Platoon posts were seen moving forward through the Nallah to attack.

Indian Army soldiers fell to the position of preparation to face the Chinese attackers. When visibility improved on 05:00, both birds are open on growing sugar with rifles, light machine guns, grenades and mortars. Indian artillery can not be used. The drains were filled with dead bodies and dead body sugar, although they failed in frontal attack earlier, were not disappointed. They followed Indian posts for sharp artillery and mortar fire about 05:40.

Major Shaitan Singh in India-China War

During the China-India War in June 1962, 13 Kumaun battalions were stationed in the Choushul sector. That brigade commanded by Brig TN Raina was handling. When the brigade reached Jammu Kashmir from Ambala, they saw the snow for the first time. Earlier, he had never experienced mountain boundaries. Now they had to fight in the world's coldest tortured areas. The Chinese army was in front of them with Sinkiang, who was used to fighting in such a war zone. The Chinese army had all modern science and ammunition, whereas the recruits had a bullet rifle at one go, which had been declared waste after World War II. Despite this situation of weather and weapons, Major Kumar Singh of 13 Company of Kumaon was full of this morale that if the enemy attacks on his rejang LA, he will have to pay a heavy price. On the side of the enemy, the circle of automatic guns and mortar was held captive. Chinese troops suddenly attacked and literally faced heavy resistance. The war land was filled with the corpses of enemy soldiers. His devious attack of Kumaayu went on for the sake of India. When a sudden attack of the Chinese enemy failed, he started firing on the bungers with mortars and rockets on Rezang La. In such a situation, there was no possibility of any survivor to survive, however, Major Sainthan Singh's troop did not take the name of retreat from there.
