Pema Khandu was born on August 21, 1979, in Gyangkar village, Tawang district, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
He comes from a political family; his father, Dorjee Khandu, also served as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh until his unfortunate demise in a helicopter crash in 2011.

Pema Khandu's Political Career:

Pema Khandu entered politics following the death of his father and successfully contested the by-election to the Mukto (Tawang) Assembly constituency in 2011.
He has been associated with the Indian National Congress (INC) and later joined the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA).
Pema Khandu became the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in July 2016 after a political crisis in the state led to a change in leadership.

Pema Khandu switched party allegiance several times. He was initially with the INC, then joined the PPA, and later merged the PPA with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
