Farooq Sheikh made his film debut in the 1973 film "Garam Hawa," directed by M.S. Sathyu. The film, which dealt with the partition of India, earned critical acclaim.
He went on to work in several notable films, often collaborating with directors like Muzaffar Ali, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, and Sai Paranjpye.
Some of his prominent films include "Chashme Buddoor" (1981), "Umrao Jaan" (1981), "Bazaar" (1982), and "Kissi Se Na Kehna" (1983).
