Early Life and Education:

General Bipin Rawat was born on March 16, 1958, in Pauri, Uttarakhand, India. He hailed from a military family; his father, Lieutenant General Laxman Singh Rawat, served in the Indian Army. Bipin Rawat completed his schooling from the Cambrian Hall School in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

Military Career of Bipin Rawat:

Bipin Rawat was commissioned into the Indian Army in December 1978 after completing his training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. Over the years, he served in various capacities within the Indian Army, gaining extensive experience and expertise in military operations and strategic planning.

Bipin Rawat's Command Positions:

Rawat held several key command positions during his military career. He served as the Commandant of the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and later commanded a Multinational Brigade in the Democratic Republic of Congo as part of a United Nations peacekeeping mission. He also served as the General Officer Commanding of the Strike Corps, Southern Command, and the Eastern Command of the Indian Army.
