India is a land of diversity. Each state of this country reveals a rich diversity in its culinary arts. Indian regional cuisine is largely the result of experiments and influences. Various interesting dishes develop. Thus Central Indian cuisine is a presentation of such research and contribution. The cuisine of this region is a mixture of both sweet and savory flavors. Although the cuisine of Central India does not exhibit any distinctive and distinctive cuisine of its own, the region also reflects the splendid food cultures of the neighboring states. Central Indian cuisine can aptly be called 'Variety of Cuisine'. The cooking style of Madhya Pradesh varies from north to west of the region. There are regions in the state that prefer wheat and meat based dishes, while the southern and eastern parts have rice and fish dishes. Places like Gwalior and Indore spread milk and milk based preparations. Apart from this, Bhopal has exquisite meat and fish dishes. Preparations like spicy rogan josh, delicious korma, luscious keema, favorite biryani pilaf and succulent kebabs are examples of mythological items. Central Indian cuisine is characterized by rich, spicy and creamy dishes. But the choice of spices is according to the season of the region. Summer meals include delicious mangoes, succulent melons and watermelons, custard apples, bananas, papayas and guavas. The cuisine of this region is not complete without sweets and beverages. Lassi or buttermilk, sugarcane juice, beer and rum are favorite additions to dishes.
