5G trials will be done at these places, 10 times more speed than 4G

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has started allocating spectrum to telecom operators for 5G trials in India. 5G trials will be done at many locations like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Gujarat, Hyderabad. According to the report, telecom operators have also been allocated spectrum for Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh. According to officials of the telecom company, the telecom operators have been allocated spectrum of 700 Mhz band, 3.3-3.6Ghz band and 24.25-28.5 Ghz band for different location.

Let us know that on May 4, 2021, the application of Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and MTNL was approved by the Department of Telecommunications for 5G trials. However, during this time, the Department of Telecommunications made it clear that the 5G trial would have to be done without the help of technology of any Chinese company. Telecom companies like Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and C-DOT have also been approved for 5G trials by the Department of Telecommunications. Reliance Jio Infocomm will conduct 5G trials using its indigenous technology.

5G downloading speed will be 10 times faster than 4G


According to DoT's report, 5G technology will provide 10 times higher downloading speed than 4G. Also, spectrum efficiency will be 3 times more. During the trial, the testing settings will be tested based on the application. The 5G technology trial will examine telemedicine, tele-education and drone-based agricultural monitoring capabilities. Also, telecom operators will have to test many devices on their network. The maximum time allowed for the 5G trial is 6 months. Out of this, the time of 2 months has been given for the procurement and setting of equipment. In the approval given by the Department of Telecommunications, it has been clearly said that it will be mandatory for the telecom service provider to do 5G trials in rural and small towns. According to DoT, telecom operators cannot undertake 5G trials only in urban areas.
