Ganesan Srinivasan was born on 9 April 1942 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He received his bachelor's degree from Nagpur University in 1962. And in 19964, the degree of Stratkottar was completed from Madras University. He completed his PhD from Chicago Universities in 1970 under the supervision of Morel Uch Cotten. He started working in various research institutes including Cavendish Laboratory.

Ganesan Srinivasan is an Indian physicist. Those who specialize in the fields of related matter physics and astrophysics. He is a professor at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. And is a former research scientist of Raman Institute. After working in various research institutes, including the Cavidish laboratory, he eventually settled at Raman Research Institute in 1976 until his retirement in 1976.
