Dhan Singh Thapa's Role in the 1962 Sino-Indian War:

During the 1962 Sino-Indian War, Thapa was serving as a Major in the Indian Army. He was stationed at the strategically important Rezang La pass in Ladakh, near the border with Tibet. In November 1962, the pass came under attack by the Chinese forces. Despite being heavily outnumbered and facing adverse weather conditions, Major Dhan Singh Thapa and his men bravely defended their position.

On November 18, 1962, the Battle of Rezang La took place. Major Thapa and his troops displayed exceptional valor and determination in the face of overwhelming odds. Despite being vastly outnumbered, they fought fiercely, inflicting heavy casualties on the Chinese forces.
