Early Life and Education:

Jyotiraditya Scindia was born to Madhavrao Scindia, a prominent politician, and Vasundhara Raje Scindia, a member of the royal family of Gwalior. He attended the Doon School in Dehradun and later pursued an undergraduate degree in Economics from Harvard University in the United States. He also earned an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Political Career of Jyotiraditya Scindia:

Scindia entered politics and joined the Indian National Congress (INC), the political party to which his family had historically been affiliated. He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Guna constituency in Madhya Pradesh in 2002 and subsequently re-elected in 2004, 2009, and 2014.

During his tenure in the INC, Scindia held various positions, including Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology (2007-2009) and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry (2009-2012) in the UPA-II government.

Joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP):

In March 2020, Jyotiraditya Scindia left the INC and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a major political rival. His decision to switch parties led to a political crisis in the state of Madhya Pradesh, eventually resulting in the fall of the Congress government led by Chief Minister Kamal Nath.

Ministerial Role in BJP Government:

Following his move to the BJP, Scindia played a significant role in the party's affairs. In July 2021, he was inducted into the Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and was appointed as the Cabinet Minister for Civil Aviation.
