Early Life and Education:

Ajit Jogi was born into a modest family and pursued his education with dedication. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering and later studied at the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, where he obtained a master's degree in economics.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Career:

Jogi joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1968 and served in various capacities in the state of Madhya Pradesh. He worked closely with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi during his tenure as the Prime Minister of India. Jogi held several important positions in the bureaucracy, gaining experience in governance and administration.

Political Career of Ajit jogi:

Ajit Jogi entered politics and became a member of the Indian National Congress (INC). He played a significant role in the creation of the new state of Chhattisgarh, which was carved out of Madhya Pradesh in 2000. In the same year, he became the first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh after the INC won the state elections.

Chief Ministership and Contributions:

During his tenure as Chief Minister from 2000 to 2003, Jogi implemented various social welfare programs and developmental initiatives. His government focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure development in the newly formed state.

Ajit jogi's Later Political Career and Legacy:

Ajit Jogi remained active in state politics even after his term as Chief Minister. He and his son, Amit Jogi, founded the Chhattisgarh Janata Congress party. Jogi's political career was marked by both achievements and controversies, and he remained a prominent political figure in Chhattisgarh.

Tragically, Ajit Jogi passed away on May 29, 2020, following a cardiac arrest. His legacy is remembered in the context of his role in the formation of Chhattisgarh and his contributions to the state's early development.
