Early Biography of Praful Kumar Jena:
Prafulla Kumar Jena is an Indian Metallurgist. He is a scientist at the National Institute for Intellectual Science and Technology. Not only this, but he is also the former director of Industrial Research, Bhubaneswar Council. Jena was born on 27 December 1937 in Odisha, India.
He has obtained a degree in Chemistry. After that, he obtained a degree in Physics from Utkal University. He received his MS in Metal Engineering from British Columbia University.
Works of Praful Kumar Jena :
In the early days of his career, he worked as a senior scientist in the Metal Science Division of Bhabha Atomic Research Center Trombay. He has also worked as a professor of Dhatukram Engineering in the Banaras Hindu University. PK Jina has also served as the director of the Regional Research Laboratory RRL of the Scientific and Industrial Council.
PK Jena has also been an eminent Tata professor from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. PK Jena has served as the Director General of CSIR from 1972 to 1986. PK Jena was working as a visiting professor at the Catholic Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the Lohokar University University of Sendai, Japan. |
PK Jena has also been a former director of the Natural Resources Development Foundation. PK Jena has focused on the research of ores and minerals by his research. He is known for the methods developed to benefit the value of iron from industrial waste and the recovery of coal fines by the value of iron and less iron.
He has also contributed in the areas of chloride metallurgy of non-ferrous ores and extraction of nickel cobalt copper, lead, zinc, vanadium and manganese. Jena was the founder Adhyaksha of Bhubaneswar's Institute of Physics, Planetarium. Similarly, Jena is also the founder Adhyaksha of NRDF and IATES Bhubaneswar.
