        Prafulchandra received his early education from New English High School, Nagpur In 1958, he graduated from Dr. Punjabrao's College of Agriculture In 1960, he graduated from Nagpur University with a master's degree in agriculture

Tasks of Prafulchandra Vishnu Sane:

        Prafulchandra has worked as an Assistant Research Botanist at the University of California, Berkeley. From 1972 to 1984 he has been the Head of Bhabha Atomic Research Center BARC India. From 1984 to 1997, Sane has served as the Director, National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. Since then he has worked as a Principal Consultant at Jain Irrigation Systemsa Limited, Agri Biotech Division, Jalgaon since his retirement.

        During his tenure, he has worked on electron transport and energy in chloroplasta membranes Sane has teamed up with Roderick Park to develop a new method for isolating PS-1 and PS-II without the use of detergent. Sane led a team while at BARC
