Early life of Alton Brown:

        Brown is the author of several books, including I'm Just Here for the Food, which won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Cookbook, and was one of the best-selling books of 2002. Since 2008, Brown has been a spokesperson for Welch's grape juice, appearing in television commercials. He has also appeared in a video promoting salt funded by food giant Kargil. "Salt is a very amazing compound," Brown announced in a video titled Salt 101. "So make sure you have salt in your kitchen at all times."

        In 2011, after 13 years and 250 episodes, Brown decided to cease production of Good Eats, which he announced on Twitter. His relationship with Food Network continues, as he has signed a three-year contract to develop future projects. Brown is also a regular commentator on Iron Chef America and co-host / judge of the reality TV series The Next Iron Chef and Jackfruit Kitchen.

        Alton Brown was born on July 30, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, to Alton Brown, Sr., a media executive, owner of radio station WRWH and publisher of the newspaper 'White County News'. When he was very young, his father was found dead in his home in 1974, allegedly by suicide and soon after, his mother remarried. Despite his disgruntled childhood, Brown earned a degree in drama from the University of Georgia.

Subsequently, he took to theaters and film production and made his living despite it. He did cinematography for some important videos in the 1990s, such as 'The One I Love', a song by the famous rock band R.E.M. He worked in film productions for over a decade but his heart was always with cooking, the love that was instilled in him by his mother. He used to watch the cookery show passionately.
