Sindhudurg Fort

Sindhudurg fort is a historic fort located on an artillery in the Arabian Sea. This fort is located on the banks of the Malvan city of Sindhudurg district of Konkan region of Maharashtra, which is located 450 kilometers south of Mumbai.
This fort was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj of the Maratha empire. The main purpose of this fort was to fight the rising influence of foreign traders and to stop the rise of Zindagi Siddi.
It was constructed under the supervision of Heroini Indulkar in 1664. The fort was built on a small island.

This sea stretch is spread over 48 acres, comprising 3 km of wall, and walls which are 30 ft (9.1 m) high and 12 ft (3.7 m) thick.

The casting of 4000 pounds was used in casting and the foundations of the foundation were firmly determined. It took three years to build this fort. The main entrance is hidden in such a way that no one can see it from outside.

Most of the permanent residents living in the fort were shifted due to inadequate employment opportunities, but more than 15 families still live in the fort.

Due to high flows in the sea, the fort is closed for tourists during the rainy season.

Sindhudurg city is situated in the Sindhudurg district in the north of Goa, 450 kilometers south from Mumbai (Mumbai). Konkan Railway is a railway station in Sindhudurg, but only a few trains stop there. Kudal, Kanakwali and Sawantwadi are the main railway stations in Sindhudurg district.
