43 Chinese App Banned: List of 43 Chinese Apps Banned In India, Including AliExpress, Government Decided Due To National Security

There has been a digital strike on China once again by the Indian government. This time India has decided to ban 43 Chinese mobile apps. This may cause considerable damage to the Chinese retail business. In fact, four of the 43 banned Chinese apps are linked to the Alibaba Group's retail business.

What was the reason behind the 43 Chinese app ban

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has been directed to ban 43 Chinese apps in India by issuing an order under section 69A of the Information Technology Act. The Government of India has decided to ban 43 Chinese apps in view of the threat to the security, integrity and sovereignty of the country. The decision of the Chinese apps ban has been taken on the basis of the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cybercrime Coordination Center.

Know when and how many Chinese apps were banned in India

Today, on 24 October 2020, the central government has banned 43 Chinese apps, among them 15 dating apps.
The Government of India had earlier banned 118 Chinese mobile apps in India on 2 September 2020. This included popular apps like WeChat, Tiktok and UC Browser.

On 29 June 2020, 59 Chinese mobile apps were first banned by the central government this year. It included famous apps like PUBG Mobile.

So far in India, popular Chinese apps like Tiktok, UC Browser have been banned. This time, popular shopping website AliExpress has been banned, which will be a big setback for Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba.
