Bharatpur is a well known tourist destination of India. It is also called the eastern gate of Rajasthan and is located in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. It is an ancient city built by Maharaja Suraj Mal in the year 1733. The city was named after Bharata, the brother of Lord Rama of the Hindus.

Bharatpur is also known as Lohgarh as it serves as a route to popular tourist destinations like Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.
