Introduction

NITI Aayog, short for National Institution for Transforming India, is a policy think tank of the Government of India. It was established on January 1, 2015, replacing the Planning Commission. Structure  of NITI Aayog

NITI Aayog is headed by the Prime Minister of India, who serves as its Chairperson. It consists of Vice-Chairperson, full-time members, and ex-officio members, including various union ministers and chief ministers of states and union territories.

NITI Aayog faces challenges related to policy implementation, resource allocation, and addressing regional disparities. However, it has been instrumental in driving key reforms and initiatives, including GST (Goods and Services Tax) implementation, addressing water scarcity, promoting digital transactions, and focusing on sustainable development goals.
