Sufi Amba Prasad Bhatnagar (1858 - January 21, 1917) was a great revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle. He was born in 1858 in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. There was no right hand from their birth. In 1990, he took out the 'Peshwa' newspaper from Punjab. Later, the name changed to Sufi Muhammad Hussein to avoid the British. For this reason, these Sufi people became famous as Amba Prasad Bhatnagar. They were sentenced to death for the second time in 1897 and then in 1907 by the British Government. To avoid this, the name changed to Iran. He was also the leader of the Gadar Party. Their tomb is located in Shiraz city of Iran.

The position of Sufi ji in the revolutionary fighters is highly significant. He always practiced for lifelong freedom. He also suffered severe harsh tortures in the cells of the jails. In the end, he had to go to Iran only for the independence of the country. In Iran, he broke his breath while fighting the British. Hear, today even their tomb in Iran exists.

He wrote two major articles against the British twice, which resulted in him being sued twice. For the first time he was given 4 months and the second time was 9 years rigorous punishment. His property was also seized. Sufi ji went to Hyderabad when he returned from prison For some days, staying in Hyderabad, then went to Lahore. In Lahore, the institution of Sardar Ajit Singh, started working in the Bharat Mata Society. These days he wrote a book, whose name was Rebel Isa. His book was considered very objectionable. Consequently, the British government tried to arrest them. Sufi ji went to Nepal to avoid the arrest, but was caught in the napal and brought to India. He was prosecuted for sedition in Lahore, but he was released due to lack of evidence.

Jail sentence to Sufi Amba Prasad

Sufi Amba Prasad was a great writer of his time. They used to take a letter in Urdu too. Twice he wrote tough articles against the British. As a result, he was sued twice. For the first time, he was sentenced to four months and for the second time nine years of rigorous punishment. All his property was also seized by the British government. Sufi Amba Prasad returned to Hyderabad after coming back from jail. He stayed in Hyderabad for a few days and then moved from there to Lahore.

The composition of 'Rebel Isa' by Sufi Amba Prasad

On reaching Lahore, Sufi Amba Prasad started working in the 'Bharat Mata Society' of Sardar Ajit Singh. Along with Singhji's close associate, Sufi Amba Prasad also became a follower of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. These days he wrote a book, whose name was Rebel Isa. His book was considered very objectionable by the British Government. As a result, the government tried to arrest him. Sufi ji went to Nepal to escape the arrest. But they were caught there and brought to India. In Lahore he was prosecuted for sedition, but he was released due to lack of concrete evidence. Together with the Iranian revolutionaries, Sufi Amba Prasad organized a general movement. They are leftist in their entire life. On February 12, 1919, Iran received death only in exile.
